Quem nunca torceu o tornozelo, não é mesmo? Não é preciso ser um atleta profissional para ter alguma lesão nessa região. É algo muito comum, seja de forma superficial ou ainda algo mais sério, que precise de imobilização por bastante tempo. O importante nesse momento é identificar a torção e agir de forma correta.
Não fique assustado, porque não se trata de algo grave, basta seguir à risca as orientações e o tratamento. O cuidado é essencial para que não evolua para uma situação mais complexa. É imprescindível também que a medicação tomada seja algo prescrito por um médico.

O que há no tornozelo?
O nosso tornozelo é formado por uma articulação que envolve ossos da perna e do pé. Essa região é revestida por uma camada de cartilagem e várias fibras chamadas de ligamentos. Tal sistema permite a movimentação dos pés como fazemos normalmente.
Como identificar uma torção?
A torção acontece quando os pés torcem de forma contrária e rompem alguma fibra dos ligamentos. A tensão gerada nos ligamentos é que causa o rompimento das fibras e há uma forte dor na hora da torção. Quanto mais fibras se rompem, maior a gravidade dessa lesão. Em alguns casos alguns fragmentos de osso saem e a correção é apenas com procedimento cirúrgico.
Tratamento mais indicado
É muito comum o inchaço, sentir dor e não conseguir andar direito. Colocar uma compressa de gelo é a melhor atitude nessas horas, pois vai ajudar no inchaço e nas dores. O tratamento é por conta do profissional, normalmente um ortopedista. Ele fará um exame a fim de descartar problemas nos ossos.
O pé deve ficar suspenso, imobilizado e o paciente precisa tomar a medicação prescrita. Tudo isso dura até 14 dias, porém, os ligamentos demoram semanas para se restabelecerem totalmente. Então, nada de parar o tratamento depois do fim das dores.
O que fazer depois
Como dissemos, o tratamento deve ir até o final, mesmo sem a presença de dores como no início. Isso acontece porque sem os ligamentos devidamente curados o pé pode ficar instável. Assim, pode torcer novamente com facilidade e ficará mais instável do que o normal.
O processo de reabilitação é muito importante também. Procedimentos de analgesia (US, Laser, TENS , OC entre outros) , alongamento e fortalecimento do tornozelo ajudam a recuperar o local lesionado. A propriocepção é alvo também dos aspectos a serem recuperados. Ela é a capacidade de manter o pé correto no espaço, como um reflexo automático.
Tudo isso ocorre por meio de fisioterapia, e negligenciar essa parte pode ser prejudicial no futuro, devido as compensações. Uma recuperação não adequada pode inclusive necessitar de cirurgias para correção. Por isso, é preciso seguir cada uma das etapas à risca.
